What Is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese healing technique based on the principle that universal life force energy flows through all living things. When this energy is low or blocked, we experience stress, illness, and emotional imbalance.
A trained Reiki practitioner channels this energy through their hands — promoting deep relaxation, accelerating physical healing, and restoring emotional balance. The system was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 20th century and is now practised worldwide.

Beginning in Rishikesh in 2004 and establishing a Reiki & Yoga Center in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala — home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama — Amit has spent over 19 years guiding students through the four levels of Usui Reiki. He has trained more than 7,500 students from countries across the world.
His teaching philosophy is deeply personal: small groups, authentic attunements, and genuine mentorship at every level. He does not run production-line Reiki courses. Each student receives direct, individual attention — and leaves fully confident in their practice.

In-Person & Online
Reiki training is available across Vietnam and online to students anywhere in the world. Book by appointment.

The primary home base. Most flexible scheduling — available by appointment for private and small group sessions.
Ho Chi Minh City
Available in Districts 1, 2 (Thảo Điền), 3, 7, and Bình Thạnh. Book at least one week in advance.
Hanoi
Reiki training available by intensive scheduling. Requires at least one week's notice from the course date.
Online — Worldwide
Live sessions via video call for all four Reiki levels. Students join from Europe, the Americas, Australia, and across Asia.

Before You Book
No experience whatsoever is needed. Reiki Level 1 is designed for complete beginners. If you are open to the experience and willing to practice, that is everything you need. Amit will guide you through every step from the very beginning.
Each level is typically completed in one day (or across two half-days, depending on your schedule). The courses are designed to be intensive and practical, so you leave fully equipped to practice immediately. Flexibility is built around your travel plans.
Yes, absolutely. Many students complete Levels 1 and 2 (and sometimes 3) during a single stay in Da Nang or Hoi An. Contact Amit with your available dates and he will design the best schedule for you. Booking multiple levels may also qualify for a combined rate.
Yes. The certificates issued for all four Reiki levels are internationally recognised and accepted by Reiki associations and holistic health organisations worldwide. Your certificate includes the full lineage and Amit's credentials as a Reiki Grand Master.
Traditionally, it is recommended to practice Level 1 for at least 21 days before progressing to Level 2. However, Amit will advise you based on your individual readiness and how you're progressing. Some students move quickly; others prefer to deepen each level before advancing.
Yes. Distance Reiki — including distance attunements — is a well-established practice within the Usui Reiki lineage. Reiki energy transcends physical location. Many students who have received online attunements from Amit report the same depth of experience as in-person training. Online training is ideal for students who cannot travel to Vietnam.
